Monticello wildlife control tip of the month:

Ways of killing or getting rid of Armadillos in the yard Armadillos are small pest like animals found in southern states in both the United States of America and in South America. They are fond of invading people’s lawns and yards and are considered a nuisance. They are considered a nuisance or irritation because of their actions on lawns and yards. Since armadillos vary in size, the extent of destruction on yards depends on this. Larger Armadillos cause greater destruction than small ones. The main source of food for Armadillos is the ground. The ground houses several insects, which are the main feeds for the Armadillo. They dig holes on people’s yards in search of food. They also dig burrows and sometimes the burrows can be of massive size. The massiveness of these burrows is what is of concern to humans. They can be dug underneath concrete walls, near gas lines or water pipes. Concrete walls can crack once there are burrows underneath and gas or water pipes can leak if exposed. There are several ways of getting rid of or killing Armadillos that invade your yard. They are discussed below.

1. Poisoning
It can be difficult for an Monticello pest control Armadillo to eat direct poison placed strategically on the ground because Monticello animal trapping Armadillos only eat live insects. This means that they only eat something they consider to be alive. But studies have suggested that if you sprinkle poison in areas where many insects are situated on your yard, some of the poison might fall on the insects which the Armadillo will consume. This will eventually kill the Armadillo.

2. Fencing
Fence your yard appropriately. This keeps Armadillos out. The use of metallic fences in prescribed since Armadillos cannot dig through of damage metal. If the fence corners an Armadillo inside you yard, it will exhaust all the food in the yard (insects) and won’t have any other live substance to feed on. This will kill it.

3. The Urine approach
Armadillos have poor eyesight but a very strong sense of smell. Sprinkle urine or Ammonia around your yard and in the holes. Armadillos do not like the smell of Monticello animal control urine and this drives them away.

4. Use of pesticide
Common pesticides that kill or drive pests away can be a method of killing or driving away Armadillos. 5. Have pets that chase away or kill armadillos, preferably dogs, and in this case German Shepherds. Dogs are easily irritated by small animals that cause destruction to the Monticello exterminator dog owner’s property. German Shepherds preferably will capture the Armadillos and kill them.

6. Trapping the Armadillo using professional cages and relocation.
Special cages are used to capture Armadillos. These cages can be lethal in that they severely injure the Armadillo and kill it in the process. Those are some of the methods of killing Armadillos on your yard.
