What problems do wildlife cause?

Most of the calls we get are because homeowners hear animals scurrying around inside the attic or walls. Most of the damage inside a houes or attic is unseen. Rodents like squirrels, mice, and rats often chew on electrical wires. Wildlife such as raccoons, bats, birds, opossums, and rats spread several diseases that humans can and do catch, such as Histoplasmosis, Salmonella, Leptospirosis and more. Many critters leave droppings and urine in an attic or cause mold or odor problems. We also handle animals outside the house. It could be a critter that has dug a large hole next to your house, or a raccoon in your garbage cans, an opossum that is stealing pet food, or a skunk living under your deck, causing an odor problem. Some animals destroy your garden or landscaping. Or perhaps you are simply scared of snakes. Tallahassee wildlife removal - article of the month

How to get rid of Armadillos
Armadillos are mammals that are a rare kind to come across and one distinctive characteristic about them is that they have an armor that is leathery and in the form of a shell. They are considered as creatures that are very unusual and very ancient and if you come across one of them’, you will be very shocked because of their appearance. They are very destructive features especially if they invade your farm because they usually dig up the garden and consume any plant food that is available. They also use the garden as their hiding place especially for their young ones and in most cases you will come across deep barrows in the ground. Once they inhibit your yard, they make it their permanent home and leaving the place becomes almost impossible. They can inhibit in a number of environments and when they invade you home, you have to come up with the appropriate strategies to get rid of them. Driving them out of compound does not imply that you have to kill them or use repellents that are very poisonous because there are several techniques that you can use that are better and safer for you and the Armadillos. They are very witty, they have a strong sense of smell and when they are startled, they jump and run very fast. They are not very easy to capture that is why you have to be very careful when you want to get rid of them.

Prevention tips
You can prevent these animals from invading your yard by ensuring that your compound is well fenced using walls or any other materials that are perfect. Armadillos are perfect diggers therefore you have to be extra careful when building the fences. Fences are not the most perfect way of keeping them away from your yard therefore you have to employ other techniques that are likely to work.

Exclusion fencing
Exclusion fencing is whereby the fences are dug deep into the ground. This will make it impossible for them to dig burrows and they will have no other choice but relocate your yard. However, the exclusion procedure is very laborious because the Armadillos are likely to dig deeper or around the exclusion and find their way into your farm. Technically, this is a procedure that has to be monitored from time to time and the necessary measures to be taken every time they destroy the exclusion fences.

Trapping
Armadillos trapping works in most cases because you will be sure that the animal is captured and relocated from your home. Trapping them requires you to have the experience and the correct materials to do so. You can either buy the trappers or invent them yourself but you have to make sure that they are strong enough to capture the stubborn mammal. Trappers made from wires, strong metals and wooden materials are preferable to those made of paper and carton. The next step is to ensure that you examine around the compound and spot an area where there are a lot of burrows, set the trapper on the hole way and ensure that the trap is designed in such a way that the Armadillos can enter and once they are in, it is impossible to get out and escape. With several traps, you will be able to capture a number of them. The significance of using traps is that you will be able to capture them when they are still alive and chances of them getting hurt are very minimal. Once you have them, you can either free them away from your home or you can take them to the necessary wildlife control units. It is also not advisable to use trappers that are lethal because they are likely to harm or even kill the animals. This goes for Tallahassee rodent extermination as well.

Bait
You can use baits to catch the Armadillos but the truth is they rarely work. The reason is that Armadillos have a very high sense of smell and once they smell something unpleasant, they will always avoid that area. They look for another area within your home that is safe and build new homes especially if they have their young ones.

Repellents
There are several repellents that can be obtained from the stores while others can be made naturally. In most cases, people will buy coyote or fox urine thinking that it will help gets rid of the Armadillos. If they are sprayed to the young and inexperienced Armadillos, then they are likely to die and you all know that killing wild animals is always against the rules. Some people will use very high ultra sonic sounds but the truth is that the technique rarely works, others will use moth balls or ammonia soaked in cotton balls but with the Armadillos’ high sense of smell, they will definitely dodge and all your efforts will go to waste. The best thing to do is to trap and remove them from your yard or seek for professional help.
